Cutting systems for wheel balancing weights
Automation in wheel balancing: our systems cut continuous balancing weights from the reel to the gram – removed manually or handed directly to a robot.

Wheel weights
the cutting system for balancing weights
This cutting system was developed specifically for processing continuous balancing weights on reels – so-called “weight levelwound rolls” – and continuous segment weights. It is available in different versions: as a compact cutting system, unwinding and cutting take place in one space-saving unit; for integration into wheel balancing lines there are special compact individual units.
Depending on the type, weights on reels come in packages of 90 to 120 kg. For easy retrofitting into existing balancing lines, the individual functions are divided into compact modules.
Modular machine concept
Base unit
The material store: the weight strip is unwound tension-free and passed via roller feeds to transport units or the cutting unit. An integrated splicing unit joins the end of the empty reel to the start of a new one – the joint is detected at the cutting unit and cut out separately.
Intermediate conveyors
Bridge long distances between the material store in the base station and the cutting unit and ensure tension-free material transport even over long distances.
Cutting unit
Cuts the required weight: the balancing line requests it directly. In the manual version the operator removes the weight; in the version with robot transfer station, it is handed directly to a bonding robot.
- Gram-accurate cutting of wheel balancing weights
- Easy operation
- No downtime for reel changes
- High cycle rates
- Automation in wheel balancing
- Material feed of any length
In use at renowned car manufacturers
The cutting system makes it easy to automate a balancing process that is still often carried out manually. Even with manual application, imbalances are avoided, process times reduced and workflows optimized. With robots that bond the weight to the rim, the process can be fully automated. Such systems are already in use at numerous renowned car manufacturers in Germany and abroad – in several generations since 2007.
